Title : Promises

Summary: A promise made...and a secret that they have been Keeping since 15 years ago...?!
~*~*~*~*~*~*
By now, the table was filled with cans of all types of alcoholic drinks that Ryo has to offer in his apartment. Both were still still sober, unsurprisingly, but not 100% sober at all.
"I can't believe it. Are you for real? You are...not an illusion right?!" Yamapi asked Ryo for the Nth time that night.
Ryo sighed and faced Yamapi.
"...Yes Pi...this is reality. This. Is. REEEEEAL." Ryo said as he pinched both of yamapi's cheeks and playfully move them from left to right.
"..."
Yamapi moved closer towards Ryo and leaned on the right of Ryo's chest. Surprised, Ryo's cheek blushed a bright red and he felt his heart beat faster.
"Oh Shit. Pi What are you doing!? Why are you coming so close?!"Ryo thought as felt the warmth of the other's face against his chest.
"Err...Pi...?" Ryo started, afraid that Yamapi would hear his heart beating louder and louder.
"...I can hear your heartbeat...RYO YOU ARE REAL!" Yamapi said and gave Ryo a tight hug before he moved away from Ryo and took a sip of his beverage. Ryo clutched at where Yamapi had previously leaned on and calmed himself down.
"...He's drunk...he's drunk...that was nothing... We're friends...only friends....right...?" Ryo repeated at the back of his head.
"Pi...don't do something this scary again...I honestly..." Ryo muttered under his breath.
Before Ryo could finish his sentence, Yamapi leaned in again and closed up the gap between them on the sofa.
"Erm...pi? " Ryo said and moved back slowly. Their eyes met and Ryo tried to think of what Yamapi's next move will be.
"Are...you drunk? Or are you still sober?" Ryo asked analysing Yamapi's actions.
Yamapi pinned him down onto the sofa and topped Ryo. Ryo didn't dare say a word and continued to anticipate what the other's next move will be. Finally, after what seemed like forever, Yamapi leaned down and both his and Ryo's lips met. Ryo's mind went blank. He didn't know what the kiss meant. Was Yamapi doing it because he's drunk? Or did he kiss Ryo because he really wanted to? After awhile, Yamapi broke away and leaned down to hug Ryo, face glued to his chest.
"Don't leave me ever again..."
With this 5 words, Yamapi fell asleep on Ryo's chest.
"What...did you just do Pi..." Ryo mumbled with his hands on his lips. His face was flushed.
"...Will you remember when you wake up tomorrow...?" Ryo thought and looked at the Yamapi who was now fast asleep.
Just like that, they both fell asleep together on the couch.

The next morning, Yamapi woke up first and noticed that he was on top of Ryo, on the couch. As he was analysing the situation of which they were in, Yamapi felt Ryo waking up too.
"...mm...pi...are you awake?" Ryo mumbled with his eyes closed, just loud enough for Yamapi to hear.
"...Ryo-chan...You...I..."
"Hmm...?" Ryo opened his eyes slowly, adapting to the sunlight that has now filled the room. When he finally realise the situation, Ryo sat up abruptly, and pi was pushed off him.
"Aah...Don't move like that all of a sudden!" Yamapi said with his eyes closed and rubbed the sides of his head because of the throbbing pain.
"Oh my gosh. I am so sorry pi! I...I was just shocked!" Ryo said and leaned forward to check on Yamapi.
"Are you...alright?" Ryo asked, worried. Yamapi didn't reply and looked at Ryo, who had a really serious look on his face. Yamapi laughed and nodded his head slightly.
"It's not like this is the first time we slept together right? Come to think of it, We used to do it so very often when we were young..." Yamapi laughed bitterly and tried to shift both their focus on other things instead.
"Oh shit...did I really...Was it really just a dream?" Yamapi thought to himself and looked at Ryo. He observed his every movement.
"Why is he looking at me like that? Did he remember anything from last night...?" Ryo thought to himself and glanced over to look at yamapi once in awhile.
"Ryo-chan..."
"...Pi..."
They both started in Unison and laughed at their amazing harmony.
"You go first..." Ryo said.
"Let's go get some breakfast together..." Yamapi said. "It's been awhile..."
Ryo was glad that both of their relationship is back to normal. However, there was a part of him that was disappointed.
"Does he really not remember?...Friends...Is that really what I want?..." Ryo thought to himself and convinced himself not to think much of it anymore.
The week they had together was filled with plenty of activities. They went out almost everyday, just the 2 of them. Both had not forgotten about the kiss incident, but decided against talking about it. It was finally the last few days of holiday for Ryo and they decided, to go back to their old home for the weekend.
They were both in Ryo's car, chatting happily away, and reminiscing about the times they had spent together. They both laughed at the stupid things that they used to do together and how it often ends up in a scolding or a punishment.
"Here it is..." Ryo said and parked his car outside his old house. They haven't been there in awhile especially since Ryo's parents couldn't bear to sell away the house. Also, since the full installment has already been paid in full, they decided to keep the house and hire a housekeeper who would come to tidy up the house once every 6 months. Sometimes Ryo's parents will come back to the house for holiday, but ever since Ryo started working in the company, they rarely ever spent time together as a family.
"...Wow, Still in good condition... Not bad..." Yamapi said and entered the house.
"You can put your bags in my room. You still remember where right?" Ryo said and went to the kitchen.
"Aah~ Natsu-san has been expecting us i see... I did tell her I'll be over for the weekend..." Ryo said and saw a fully stocked up fridge.
"Natsu-san?" Yamapi said coming down from the stairs.
"yeah, the housekeeper that comes over every 6 months to clean the place." he said and took out 2 cans of alcohol for both of them.
"I wonder who is staying at my house now..." Yamapi said and opened the can of beer.
"Let's go check it out then..." Ryo said and they both left the house, both holding the can of beer.
They walked past a few houses and after 3 or 4 houses, they reached the Ex-Yamashita residence.
"How nostalgic..." Yamapi said and stood a few feet away from the house, taking in the whole view of the house. The outside of the house still looks the same. The owner kept the colour of the house exactly the way it was when he moved in.
All of a sudden, a smirk appeared on Yamapi's face.
"Hey, Since it's been so long." he said and turned to Ryo. The latter looked at Yamapi with a curious look and when yamapi approached the doorbell, Ryo immediately knew what Yamapi meant.
"...Here goes~!" Yamapi said and prepared to press the door bell.
His index finger slowly approaching the doorbell and when he pressed it, both Ryo and him ran with all their might uphill. Without turning back once, they both laughed and ran. They could hear someone screaming at them but it was too faint to make out what that person was trying to say.
"I bet that person is saying how 2 grown-adults can be so childish!" Yamapi said in between breaths when they finally stopped running.
"And just whose fault was it?!" Ryo said, panting away and laughing at the stupid thing the other has done.
"Hey! Let's go there!" Yamapi said and a smile appeared across his face.
While pulling Ryo's hand, Yamapi walked and lead them both further uphill until they reached the big tree.
"This tree..." Ryo said and walked closer. The wind blew against their face gently.
"Give me your key..." Yamapi said anxiously with a smile. Ryo took out his necklace and handed it to Yamapi.
He watched intensely and as the younger of the two dug out the wooden box that has been here for 15 years. Yamapi smiled as he inserted the key and unlocked the box. A gush of anxiety rushed into Ryo's heart as he tried recalling what kind of embarassing thing he had written in the paper.
"Here! I'll read yours and You'll read mine!" Yamapi said and handed his own to Ryo.
"Don't laugh ok! I bet it's something embarassing!" Ryo said and made yamapi agree before he allowed the latter to read it.
As they slowly open the paper that has been folded nicely, they made guesses of what the other could have wrote 15 years ago. Their eyes moved across the paper and read the words on the paper. Both eyes widened and was taken aback at what the the other had written.
"I want to be with Ryo-chan forever..."
"I hope that pi will be by my side forever..."
They both read the paper out loud together.
"I love Nishikido Ryo..."
"I love Yamashita Tomohisa..."
Both of them looked at the other and smiled at what the other had wrote. Their eyes turned watery and hugged each other.
"I never thought...we would be thinking about the same thing!" Yamapi said as he broke away from the hug after a while, hands still around Ryo, still smiling. Ryo took a deep breath and looked at Yamapi in the eyes.
"...Throughout all these years, I admit, I did thought that maybe my feelings for you were...because we were friends and i thought, maybe it was because i miss you too much. but when I finally saw you again, I realised how much you meant to me, and how important you are in my life...I have always wanted to say these 3 words to you again..."Ryo said and Yamapi listened to him.
"I really really love you!" Ryo said and Yamapi smiled at him.
"That's 5 words baka..." Yamapi said and he leaned in to give Ryo a kiss.
